About the Artwork
I use the principles of sacred geometry widely utilized during the renaissance as guiding lines in my compositions and portraits. The paintings are painted on plaster-primed boards. I like to build up rich textures with plaster until I get a feel for what the painting is going to be about. Then I sand off an area where my subject will reside, and paint in oil. My compositions primarily deal with remembrance, loss, and seeking. When my subject is a portrait, I really try to choose a pose and expression that captures the sitter's essence.
I like how the topography of my paintings gives them depth that changes appearance as the daylight changes. You just want to touch them. Which you can, because I've varnished most of them already.
